A football team from a village near Calcutta hold a muddy celebration after triumphing in their league. Their victory was captured by the amateur Indian photographer Nimai Chandra Ghosh, who yesterday (8th April 2008) won the sports category of the 2008 Sony World Photography Awards. All the shortlisted photographs will be displayed at the Palais des Festivals, Cannes, on April 21-25. The overall winner was a portrait of a barber by Arup Ghosh.
